Hey everyone…I just thought I’d let you know how things have been going as we prepare for our next show on Friday night!

Rehearsals have been great, Brian Kornfeld and Joe D. have brought such a strong groove to the KJ sound and it’s really been great to benefit from Joe being a music teacher. Although I don’t understand any of these terms he keeps shooting out in rehearsal, they seem to be helping so it’s awesome!

I was honestly worried at first about giving up playing bass, not because I was concerned about who would be playing (Kornfeld said Joe was great and that was all I needed to hear)…I was worried whether or not I would miss it. But I feel almost free now, like I have restricted my singing over the years always having to compensate for playing at the same time. Ask any musician – imagine patting your head, rubbing your belly, while hula hooping and reciting the Star Spangled Banner backwards, and in Chinese…that just barely describes how hard that is to do…play bass and sing at the same time. I can focus more on phrasing I have always wanted to try and the guys have told me, so far, so good.
